VISA APPLICATION OF SHEIKH YUSUF AL-QARADAWI

Early day motion 794, tabled 28 January 2008 by Nigel Evans (Conservative). Signed by 22 members.

That this House expresses its grave concern at reports that Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi of the Muslim Brotherhood has applied for a visa to visit London; is appalled that al-Qaradawi has spoken in favour of suicide bombings and of the execution of homosexuals; further notes that al-Qaradawi has been banned from entering the USA since 1999; is dismayed that he could be granted entry to the UK; and calls on the Government to reject his visa application without delay.
