SCHOOLS AND THE SINGLE STATUS AGREEMENT

Early day motion 720, tabled 17 January 2008 by John Hemming (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 10 members.

That this House notes the financial implications of pay and grading reviews in English local authorities; further notes that these are a legal requirement following the single status agreement and are required in accordance with equalities legislation; recognises that schools face particular difficulties in handling the capital consequences of awarding back pay; and urgently calls on the Government to review how schools can be assisted to deal with the consequences of this process.

Signatures by party: Labour 7, Liberal Democrat 3.
