Early day motion 399, tabled 27 November 2007 by Keith Vaz (Labour). Signed by 8 members.

That this House regrets England's failure to qualify for the Euro 2008 championships and the failure of the other home nations to qualify; hopes that future decisions by the Football Association will mark the beginning of a new successful era for the English national team; trusts that the excellent performances of the Scottish and Northern Irish football teams will continue; believes that there are many outstanding candidates for the post of manager of the England team, including Jose Mourinho; and hopes that the football associations of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will consider participating in a home nations tournament in summer 2008.
