ANCHOR RETIREMENT HOUSING AND HOLLY DENE IN KIRKBY

Early day motion 304, tabled 19 November 2007 by George Howarth (Labour). Signed by 12 members.

That this House deplores Anchor Retirement Housing's recent decision to close the Holly Dene residential scheme for elderly people in Kirkby; notes that this decision was taken without any consultation with residents or Knowsley Council; further notes that Anchor has delayed implementation of this decision for six months; expresses hope that the assurance that residents will be relocated to accommodation of their choice will be honoured by Anchor Retirement Housing; and calls on Anchor Retirement Housing to build a new scheme to replace Holly Dene.
