POLICE ADMINISTRATION

Early day motion 55, tabled 6 November 2007 by Ronnie Campbell (Labour). Signed by 30 members.

That this House believes that too much time is spent on paper-work and bureaucracy within the police force; notes that in Blyth Valley a police constable spent 16 hours on paper-work and computer entry of the minor crime of shoplifting of air freshener; and considers that more time should be spent on preventing and detecting serious crime and not on minor crimes such as this.

Signatures by party: Labour 9, Liberal Democrat 7, Conservative 6, DUP 5, Independent 2, Social Democratic and Labour Party 1.
