GLASGOW AIRPORT INCIDENT

Early day motion 1844, tabled 4 July 2007 by Angus MacNeil (Scottish National Party). Signed by 31 members.

That this House commends baggage handler John Smeaton and passengers Michael Kerr and Stephen Clarkson for their heroic and unflinching determination in assisting brave police officers in their restraint and detention of the suspects in the thwarted Glasgow Airport terrorism incident; wishes Mr Kerr a full and prompt recovery from the injuries sustained in the course of his action; and, in tandem with the tributes planned by the First Minister and Scottish Executive, calls on the Prime Minister to utilise the Honours List to ensure that their courage is recognised, and the nations' gratitude expressed.
