CONDUCT OF LORD LAIDLAW
Early day motion 1796, tabled 28 June 2007 by Gordon Prentice (Labour). Signed by 30 members.
That this House notes with concern that three years after his appointment to the House of Lords as a working peer, Lord Laidlaw is still not a resident of the UK for tax purposes; further notes that he gave an assurance to the House of Lords Appointments Commission in 2004 that he would become a UK resident for tax purposes from April 2004; and believes in the light of this that he should no longer sit in the House of Lords.
Signatures by party: Labour 22, Liberal Democrat 8.
