HIDDEN TREASURES BROUGHT TO LIFE COMPETITION

Early day motion 1745, tabled 21 June 2007 by Willie Rennie (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 49 members.

That this House supports the Hidden Treasures Brought to Life competition, launched by the British Library, which challenges public libraries across the UK to uncover hidden treasures within their collections, the most deserving of which will be turned into virtual texts; and also welcomes the opportunity for members of the public to rediscover their local, as well as national, libraries, particularly as the four winners from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will have their items digitalised and placed on the British Library website, allowing people from across the world to access them.

Signatures by party: Labour 23, Liberal Democrat 13, Conservative 7, DUP 1, Independent 1, Independent Labour 1, Plaid Cymru 1, Social Democratic and Labour Party 1, UUP 1.
