JAGUAR AND ROVER SALE

Early day motion 1675, tabled 12 June 2007 by John McDonnell (Labour). Signed by 35 members.

That this House notes with concern the prospect of Ford selling off both Jaguar and Land Rover potentially to a private equity company with the risk of consequent asset-stripping, job losses and detrimental impact on local communities and the UK's manufacturing base; and therefore calls on the Government to be ready to take swift action to intervene to prevent such a sale.
