CONISTON HYDRO-ELECTRICITY PROJECT

Early day motion 1135, tabled 14 March 2007 by Tim Farron (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 28 members.

That this House commends the Coniston Hydro-Electricity Project, which aims to provide hydro-electric power for up to 300 homes in the Coppermines Valley in Coniston; recognises that such projects, which provide energy through renewable sources rather than fossil fuels, are crucial in the battle to combat climate change; and urges the Government to provide more support for the creation of such projects in the future.
