INHERITANCE AND EQUALITY

Early day motion 1070, tabled 7 March 2007 by Harry Cohen (Labour). Signed by 13 members.

That this House notes that Lord Lambton, who died in December 2006, left his entire estate to his only son, whilst there was no provision for his five daughters; and considers that the law should be altered so that a court can change inheritance arrangements in cases where prejudice on grounds of sex is apparent and cases are contested.
