HEALTH PROVISIONS FOR THE ELDERLY
Early day motion 1012, tabled 28 February 2007 by Lindsay Hoyle (Labour). Signed by 64 members.
That this House notes with concern the current imbalance in health provisions for the elderly; expresses its concern at the postcode lottery which means that in some areas of the country one in 20,000 have their care home bill funded by the National Health Service; also notes with concern the estimate by Age Concern that 75,000 people who should have their bills paid are being forced to meet their own costs; and calls on the Government to redress this imbalance in health provisions for the elderly.
