MANCHESTER TRANSPORT

Early day motion 794, tabled 31 January 2007 by Graham Stringer (Labour). Signed by 18 members.

That this House notes the estimate made by Manchester Airport that £90 million a year will be raised from the increase in the airport passenger duty at Manchester alone; further notes that the Chancellor of the Exchequer has said that this money should be applied to transport and environmental improvement schemes; and concludes that this money should therefore be immediately invested in extending the tram system to Ashton, Wythenshawe and Rochdale.

Signatures by party: Labour 14, DUP 3, Social Democratic and Labour Party 1.
