2012 DAYS UNTIL THE LONDON OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC GAMES

Early day motion 624, tabled 15 January 2007 by Derek Wyatt (Labour). Signed by 34 members.

That this House continues to support the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games; notes that Tuesday 23rd January 2007 marks 2,012 days to go until the opening ceremony; believes that the hopes of building a `sporting nation' rest on today's schoolchildren's desires to enjoy more sporting activity; recognises that funding the champions of tomorrow has already begun; commends investment in athletics and developing the sport at grassroots level by private companies; and looks forward to seeing the development of future British sportsmen and women.
