NEAR-LIVE CRICKET COMMENTARY

Early day motion 427, tabled 7 December 2006 by Sharon Hodgson (Labour). Signed by 23 members.

That this House deplores the decision of the International Cricket Council to consider the revocation of press accreditation for journalists who offer near live text commentary of the 2007 Cricket World Cup online; recognises that text commentary is a popular way of staying in touch with political and sporting events for those without access to a television or radio; and expresses its wish that the media are able to continue to report such events online as and when they happen.
