125th DURHAM MINERS' GALA COMMEMORATIVE STAMPS

Early day motion 355, tabled 29 November 2006 by Roberta Blackman-Woods (Labour). Signed by 55 members.

That this House calls on Royal Mail to commission a series of stamps commemorating the 125th Durham Miners' Gala, which will be held in 2009; and recognises that the Durham Miners' Gala has survived the decline of the mining industry, is an important part of Britain's industrial heritage, remains one of the highlights of the north east calendar, draws communities together and is testament to the solidarity of north east workers.
