SMALL SHOPS

Early day motion 19, tabled 15 November 2006 by Mark Prisk (Conservative). Signed by 71 members.

That this House recognises the value of small shops for local communities and is concerned by their declining presence on the High Street; notes that this Government has disproportionately increased the regulatory burden on small businesses; further notes that the total cost of regulation introduced by this Government since 1998 for UK businesses was over £50 billion; and urges the Government urgently to review this situation.
