MILITARY PERSONNEL AND BRITISH CITIZENSHIP

Early day motion 4, tabled 15 November 2006 by Bob Russell (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 62 members.

That this House calls on the Government to enable members of HM Armed Forces who are not British citizens, but who wish to apply for British citizenship, to be able to count their time serving in the Forces as residence qualification; and believes that this should be regardless of whether the service is in the UK or on deployments overseas.

Signatures by party: Liberal Democrat 28, Labour 16, Conservative 14, DUP 4.
