BRITISH AIRWAYS' POLICY TOWARDS CHRISTIANS

Early day motion 2774, tabled 17 October 2006 by Jeffrey Donaldson (DUP). Signed by 42 members.

That this House deplores the decision by British Airways (BA) to suspend without pay its employee Nadia Eweida because of her refusal to cover a cross worn around her neck; notes that BA displays the Union Flag as its symbol on aircraft, which incorporates the Cross of St George, the Cross of St Andrew and the Cross of St Patrick; and supports Nadia Eweida in her view that the matter of expressing Christianity and employees having their say in the way they express their faith is a very important issue.

Signatures by party: Labour 15, Conservative 10, Liberal Democrat 10, DUP 5, Independent 1, Social Democratic and Labour Party 1.
