AFGHANISTAN (No. 2)

Early day motion 2761, tabled 17 October 2006 by Viscount Hailsham (Conservative). Signed by 8 members.

That this House believes that British forces were committed to action in Helmand Province of Afghanistan without adequate equipment and resources, on an assessment of risk which has proved inaccurate and without proper provision being made for reinforcements, and that these failings should be investigated by a committee of no fewer than seven right hon. Members appointed for that purpose by Mr Speaker, and which should report its conclusions to this House within two months of being appointed.

Signatures by party: Conservative 7, Liberal Democrat 1.
