WATER CHARGING IN NORTHERN IRELAND

Early day motion 2707, tabled 11 October 2006 by Gregory Campbell (DUP). Signed by 16 members.

That this House notes the decision by Direct Rule Ministers to introduce water charging in Northern Ireland; recognises that, for any viable and fair system to be supported throughout the community, extensive consultation needs to be undertaken and responded to; regrets that this has not been the case; and calls upon Government to delay introduction of legislation regarding water charging until such consultations have been carried out.
