NATIONAL IDENTITY FRAUD PREVENTION WEEK (No. 2)
Early day motion 2690, tabled 10 October 2006 by Nigel Evans (Conservative). Signed by 125 members.
That this House welcomes the second annual National Identity Fraud Prevention Week, taking place between 16th and 22nd October; fully supports the objectives of the campaign; notes that, despite a series of awareness drives, too many people are still putting themselves at risk, and that people could, and should, be doing more to protect their identities; is aware that identity fraud is estimated to cost the economy £1.7 billion; and calls on everyone to stop taking chances with their identity and to start getting wise about identity fraud.
