PLANNING POLICY GUIDANCE NOTE 3 AND BROWNFIELD SITES

Early day motion 2681, tabled 9 October 2006 by John Hemming (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 40 members.

That this House notes that Planning Policy Guidance Note 3 (PPG3) requires local authorities to consider gardens as brownfield sites; further notes that this means a gradual and uncontrollable loss of green space within urban areas; and calls for the Government to amend PPG3 to give local authorities discretion as to whether to consider gardens to be brownfield sites.
