CLOSURE OF A5 IN NORTH WALES

Early day motion 2419, tabled 21 June 2006 by David Jones (Conservative). Signed by 10 members.

That this House notes the closure of the A5 trunk road between Dinmael and Ty-Nant, North Wales, from 26th May to 16th June, 2006; is concerned that such closure occurred with only a few days notice and without any arrangements having been made by the Welsh Assembly for the provision of an alternative route; deplores the damage that has been done to businesses operating in the area; and calls upon the Government to urge the Welsh Assembly to pay compensation to businesses which have suffered losses as a result of such closure.

Signatures by party: Conservative 9, DUP 1.
