NORTHERN IRELAND SOCIAL HOUSING POWERS

Early day motion 1965, tabled 18 April 2006 by Eddie McGrady (Social Democratic and Labour Party). Signed by 6 members.

That this House views with concern the decision by the Secretary of State to transfer the powers of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive to the proposed new super councils, in view of the Housing Executive's high level of acceptability and high levels of performance on all matters pertaining to housing; further notes the cross-party opposition of Northern Ireland political parties to such a move; and asks the Secretary of State to reconsider his decision.

Signatures by party: Social Democratic and Labour Party 3, Labour 2, Conservative 1.
