IRAN AND THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY
Early day motion 1615, tabled 9 February 2006 by Peter Kilfoyle (Labour). Signed by 22 members.
That this House, recognising the delicate situation in relations with Iran, calls for restraint by the international community in its dealing with the Iranian government with regard to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty; notes that both Israel and Pakistan have developed nuclear weapons; maintains its condemnation of the People's Mojahedin Organisation of Iran as a terrorist organisation; believes that diplomacy is the sensible way to resolve any difficulties with the Iranian government; and urges further dialogue between Iran and the international community, under the auspices of the United Nations.
