LONDON UNDERGROUND PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP

Early day motion 30, tabled 23 November 2004 by Tim Yeo (Conservative). Signed by 59 members.

That this House notes the disclosure in the National Audit Office's report on the London Underground PPP that the Department for Transport in 1998 set a budget for reorganising London Underground and procuring the PPP at ú70 million but that the actual cost just a couple of years later was ú180 millon - ú170 million at 1999 values; and considers that the Department's financial chiefs were grossly incompetent in setting its budget figure.
