RENEWABLE TRANSPORT FUELS OBLIGATION (No. 2)

That this House welcomes the Government's announcement that it will introduce a Renewable Transport Fuels Obligation (RTFO) to increase the use of biofuels and thereby reduce carbon emissions from the transport sector; calls on the Government to introduce the RTFO alongside the existing duty incentive for biofuels, rather than as a replacement; and urges the Government to give British biofuel producers sufficient investment and business certainty by implementing the RTFO by spring 2007.
