ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION

Early day motion 285, tabled 2 December 2004 by Lord Willis of Knaresborough (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 23 members.

That this House believes that access to higher education should be based on academic potential; recognises that the use of examination results as the sole predictor of potential can be unreliable; and calls upon all universities to select students by the use of a variety of means to assess potential in addition to AS and A2 examination results.
