ANTI-SEMITIC LITERATURE AND WH SMITH

Early day motion 1323, tabled 9 January 2006 by Andrew Dismore (Labour). Signed by 1 member.

That this House expresses its concern at the availability of anti-Semitic and other far right publications on High Street retailers' websites; notes that some companies such as Tesco, have withdrawn such material once they were requested to do so; condemns others, such as WH Smith, for having failed to act, freely selling on their website such discredited material as the anti-Semitic book, The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, widely recognised as a crude forgery dating back decades, the sole purpose of which is to stir up hatred against the Jewish community and Henry Ford's, The International Jew, alleging its myth of a worldwide Jewish conspiracy; and calls on WH Smith and other retailers to review their stock list and remove from sale literature such as that produced by far right publisher Liberty Bell, and others.
