2009 PROJECT PLEDGE TO VOTE CAMPAIGN

Early day motion 1218, tabled 7 December 2005 by Jo Swinson (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 98 members.

That this House applauds the 2009 Project, which aims to engage young people in politics by calling on all those under the age of 35 years at the next election to pledge to vote; recognises with concern the downward trend in voter participation at general elections of those aged under 35 years; and calls on honourable and right honourable Members to support the project's objective and to encourage their younger constituents to pledge to vote.

Signatures by party: Liberal Democrat 39, Conservative 30, Labour 24, Plaid Cymru 2, Social Democratic and Labour Party 2, Respect 1.
