FALSE FIRE ALARMS IN PORTCULLIS HOUSE

Early day motion 1206, tabled 6 December 2005 by Andrew Dismore (Labour). Signed by 31 members.

That this House expresses its concern at the frequency of false fire alarms in Portcullis House; believes that so many false alarms can create a sense of crying wolf, so that if there is a real fire those in the building may not take immediate evacuation action; notes the extent of disruption to hon. Members, their staff, committees and the public caused by false alarms; and calls upon the House authorities to take action to sort out the alarm system so it only goes off when it is supposed to.
