SPEED LIMIT ON LAKE WINDERMERE

Early day motion 1086, tabled 22 November 2005 by Janet Anderson (Labour). Signed by 12 members.

That this House notes that the bylaw to introduce a 10 mile an hour speed limit on Lake Windermere, which came into force on 29th March, has had a detrimental effect on tourism, sporting associations and the local economy; and calls on the Government to ask the Lake District National Parks Authority to work with all interested parties to find a managed solution, as has proved to be possible on the Norfolk Broads.

Signatures by party: Labour 6, Conservative 3, DUP 2, Liberal Democrat 1.
