PRISONERS SERVING THEIR FULL SENTENCE
Early day motion 1064, tabled 17 November 2005 by Philip Davies (Conservative). Signed by 21 members.
That this House recognises that criminals released early from prison and placed on the tagging scheme are re-offending at record rates; is appalled that since 1997 1,167 people released on parole have been charged with further crimes before the end of their sentences and that 6,714 crimes have been committed by people on home detention curfews; and therefore calls for this scheme to be scrapped and for prisoners to serve the sentence handed out by the court in full.
