SMOKING BAN

Early day motion 833, tabled 24 October 2005 by Andrew MacKinlay (Labour). Signed by 95 members.

That this House favours a complete and total ban on smoking in pubs, restaurants and public buildings; and considers that any compromise or fudging of this issue by so-called smoke zones will be a recipe for confusion, ambiguity and unnecessary argument and excuses by those not wishing to adhere to both the spirit and letter of the law.

Signatures by party: Labour 59, Liberal Democrat 26, DUP 5, Conservative 1, Independent 1, Plaid Cymru 1, Social Democratic and Labour Party 1, UUP 1.
