GEOFF THOMAS AND LE TOUR FOR LEUKAEMIA

Early day motion 698, tabled 10 October 2005 by Andrew Pelling (Conservative). Signed by 79 members.

That this House congratulates former England footballer Geoff Thomas on completing his 2,200-mile cycling challenge around the Tour de France circuit in just 21 days, raising over £122,000 as well as increasing awareness of the work of Leukaemia Research; and notes that this achievement is all the more remarkable given that he himself has only been in remission from chronic myeloid leukaemia since Christmas 2004.

Signatures by party: Conservative 33, Labour 24, Liberal Democrat 14, DUP 4, Plaid Cymru 2, Social Democratic and Labour Party 1, UUP 1.
