ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY TEACHERS BOYCOTT OF ISRAELI UNIVERSITIES

Early day motion 173, tabled 24 May 2005 by Lord Mann (Labour). Signed by 18 members.

That this House welcomes the call of Foreign and Commonwealth Office Minister Dr Kim Howells for the Association of University Teachers to reconsider its policy to boycott selective Israeli universities, which has attracted widespread international condemnation; and believes that such a boycott would be effectively anti-Semitic, a barrier to the developing peace process and would leave a stain on the reputation of British academia.
