UNION OF DEMOCRATIC MINEWORKERS AND COAL HEALTH CLAIMS

Early day motion 172, tabled 24 May 2005 by Lord Mann (Labour). Signed by 23 members.

That this House is shocked at the Union of Democratic Mineworkers (UDM) circular advising people to lie about vibration white finger symptoms; calls for an immediate inquiry into the running of Vendside, the UDM claims handling company, and an immediate suspension of the DTI claims handling agreement with the UDM; and believes that underhand methods like this will lead to many honest claims being rejected.

Signatures by party: Labour 20, Plaid Cymru 2, Conservative 1.
