Dr GWYNFOR EVANS

Early day motion 136, tabled 18 May 2005 by Elfyn Llwyd (Plaid Cymru). Signed by 9 members.

That this House notes with sadness the death of Dr Gwynfor Evans, the former honourable Member for Carmarthen; recognises his enormous contribution to politics in Wales and beyond; values his fearless dedication to the cause of peace and international understanding; remembers in particular his peace mission to Vietnam at the height of the American war in that country; notes that the University College of Wales College Aberystwyth is opening a new building for its International Politics Department; and believes that this building should be named Adeilad Gwynfor Evans.

Signatures by party: Plaid Cymru 3, Labour 2, Liberal Democrat 2, Scottish National Party 2.
