SNP VICTORY IN GRANGEMOUTH

Early day motion 439, tabled 21 December 2004 by Alex Salmond (Scottish National Party). Signed by 5 members.

That this House welcomes the result of the Inchyra by-election in Grangemouth on 16th December which saw the SNP vote increase by 42 per cent. to win the seat by a majority of 321 votes; notes the vindication of the policies of the SNP administration of Falkirk District Council and SNP candidate, Angus Macdonald; and further notes the attempt by the honourable member for Falkirk East to influence the election by personally writing to every elector and the results of that intervention.

Signatures by party: Scottish National Party 5.
