STANDING ON TRAINS

Early day motion 416, tabled 16 December 2004 by Richard Younger-Ross (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 18 members.

That this House notes the gross overcrowding on many high speed rail services that leads to passenger standing for much and sometimes all of their journey; believes that this both provides a poor service and places passengers at greater risk of injury in case of accident; and calls upon the rail operating companies to move to seating only on such services.

Signatures by party: Labour 8, Liberal Democrat 7, Conservative 1, DUP 1, Labour/Co-operative 1.
