WAR TOYS AT CHRISTMAS

Early day motion 314, tabled 6 December 2004 by Lord Stratford (Labour). Signed by 34 members.

That this House draws attention to the 10-minute Rule Bill in 1988 moved by the honourable Member for West Ham seeking a ban on the sale and advertisement of war toys and computer games based on violent imagery; believes that in part the growth of violence and the gun culture in our society has its roots in the brutalising of children from an early age by war toys and games; and calls for a ban on the sale of such items and reminds adults that the season of peace and goodwill is ill-served by the giving of war toys to children.
