FREE TV LICENCES FOR ALL PENSIONERS AGED 70 AND OVER

Early day motion 756, tabled 22 February 2005 by Ronnie Campbell (Labour). Signed by 51 members.

That this House would welcome free television licences for pensioners aged 70 years and over reducing the current age band of 75 years; notes that figures show that providing free television licences for everyone aged 70 years or over would cost an estimated ú529 million a year, excluding administrative costs; and calls upon the Government to implement this change as soon as possible.
