SINN FEIN, THE MAYOR OF LONDON AND NORTHERN IRELAND

Early day motion 679, tabled 8 February 2005 by Gregory Campbell (DUP). Signed by 10 members.

That this House notes the reported comments of Ken Livingstone, the Mayor of London, where he has indicated he is prepared to highlight the alleged disadvantage of Nationalists in Northern Ireland's Lisburn City Council but has not mentioned the worsening problems of Unionists in councils such as Londonderry, Down and Strabane where there is not only an employment disadvantage for Unionists but thousands of them have suffered intimidation from the military wing of the Provisional IRA, whose representatives, Sinn Fein, wrote to London's Mayor raising the matter in the first instance.

Signatures by party: Conservative 5, DUP 3, Labour 1, UUP 1.
