CHILDRENS WARD IN CHELTENHAM

Early day motion 570, tabled 24 January 2005 by Lord Jones of Cheltenham (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 5 members.

That this House continues to support the retention of Battledown Ward at Cheltenham General Hospital as a 24-hour ward; is deeply disappointed at the decision of the joint sub-committee of Gloucestershire's Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) to recommend the centralisation of children's services at Gloucester Royal Hospital; and calls upon those PCTs to listen to the views of the people of Cheltenham and to pilot a nurse-led 24-hour unit in Battledown Ward.

Signatures by party: DUP 2, Conservative 1, Labour 1, Liberal Democrat 1.
