ANSWERING OF PARLIAMENTARY QUESTIONS

Early day motion 259, tabled 10 December 2003 by Lord Mann (Labour). Signed by 38 members.

That this House notes that parliamentary questions which are not answered in the conventional manner due to lack of time are answered by a letter from the Minister which is then placed in the Library; further notes that these answers are not available to the public through the Hansard website; and calls upon the Government to reform this procedure in order that the parliamentary record is complete and open to scrutiny by the public.
