ENGLAND RUGBY TEAM PARADE
Early day motion 183, tabled 2 December 2003 by Lord Foster of Bath (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 23 members.
That this House congratulates the England Rugby Team on their World Cup victory; recognises the tremendous effect on young people that this achievement has inspired; notes with concern that the parade organised for the team is being held on a school day, excluding the thousands of school children who will be unable to attend; requests that the parade be rescheduled for Monday 22nd December and that, if necessary, the team's appointments with Her Majesty the Queen and the Prime Minister be made separate from the parade.
