CREATION OF A FUND FOR ULSTER DEFENCE REGIMENT WIDOWS

Early day motion 605, tabled 10 February 2004 by Iris Robinson (DUP). Signed by 13 members.

That this House calls upon the Government to recognise the bravery and professionalism of those men and women who served in the Ulster Defence Regiment in Northern Ireland; remembers with great respect those UDR soldiers who were callously murdered by evil terrorists and the plight of the grieving families left behind to mourn; and consequently calls upon the Government to set up a new fund for UDR widows similar to that in operation for families of murdered police officers.
