BBC AND THE HUTTON REPORT
Early day motion 508, tabled 29 January 2004 by Norman Baker (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 37 members.
That this House notes that, while the BBC must learn lessons from the Hutton Inquiry, it remains in the public interest for the BBC to pursue a policy of vigorous investigative journalism, and that it should not react to its present difficulties by steering away from the genuine stories which if aired might offend leading politicians.
Signatures by party: Labour 15, Liberal Democrat 11, Conservative 3, DUP 2, Labour/Co-operative 2, Plaid Cymru 2, Scottish National Party 2.
