BRITISH BEER

Early day motion 427, tabled 14 January 2004 by John Grogan (Labour). Signed by 53 members.

That this House calls on all Government departments to offer British beer alongside wine at official receptions; notes with dismay that the Foreign and Commonwealth Office do not offer British beer to guests at official functions other than on request, thus missing out on a golden opportunity to showcase the world-renowned ales and lagers produced by the nation's brewing industry.

Signatures by party: Labour 32, Conservative 7, Liberal Democrat 7, Labour/Co-operative 6, Plaid Cymru 1.
